This policy covers the Alignment AI ordering and project-scoping site at order.getalignment.us (the "Site"). It explains what we collect when you scope a project with us, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Contact details you give us in the scoping chat — typically your name, work email and company.
- Project conversation — your chat messages with our scoping assistant and the structured brief they produce (project requirements, timeline, budget range).
- Files you share — documents you upload, or files you pick from Google Drive using the file picker (see "Google Drive" below), plus links you paste into the chat.
- Account data — if you sign in with an emailed link, we store your email address and a profile summary of your projects so the assistant can remember you across visits.
- Basic technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) used for security and rate limiting.
How we use it
- To prepare your project proposal, obtain pricing from vetted delivery partners, and produce your quote.
- To communicate with you about your project (for example, emailing your proposal link).
- To operate, secure and improve the Site.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Google Drive
If you choose "Google Drive" in the chat, you sign in to Google and pick specific files in Google's own file picker. Our access is limited to the files you pick (the drive.file scope): we cannot browse, search or list the rest of your Drive. A copy of each picked file is stored with your project so we can prepare your proposal. Your Google access token is used once for the download and is never stored.
Alignment AI's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. In particular, data from your Drive files is used only to provide the proposal feature you requested, is not transferred to third parties except as necessary to provide that feature, and is never used for advertising.
Service providers
We use a small number of processors to run the Site: cloud hosting and database providers, an email delivery provider, and AI model providers that process chat content to generate interview questions and proposal drafts. Delivery partners ("suppliers") receive an anonymized requirements package — your identity is withheld — only after you confirm a proposal, and only so they can price the work.
Retention
Project briefs, proposals and shared files are kept while your project is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (below).
Your choices
- Using the scoping chat is possible without signing in; signing in only adds cross-visit memory.
- You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing us.
- Sharing files is always optional — the interview works without them.
